Historic Hammam on the zero euro banknote

A real treat will take visitors to one of the most popular spas in Slovakia.
Kúpele Trenčianske Teplice, a.s. has decided to showcase the beauty of its historical gem – the Hammam relaxation room, on the occasion
130. the anniversary of its construction, immortalize it by issuing its own zero euro banknote.

Since its construction in 1888, this architectural gem built in the Moorish style has “experienced” its next great glory.
The banknote features the interior of the Hammam relaxation room.

According to Vladislav Klajban from Euro Souvenir Slovakia, this will be the first ever motif depicting the interior of a building in Slovak editions.

“We believe that we have prepared a unique item for our visitors and collectors, with which they can valuablely expand their collection of zero banknotes,” said Michal Vojtáš, General Director of the Spa. “In addition, a commemorative stamp dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the Hammam will be available to interested parties on the first day of sales at the local post office,” he added.

The zero euro banknote will go on sale on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at a price of EUR 3 per piece and in a maximum quantity of 10 pieces per buyer. The only official point of sale will be located in the PAX spa hotel. Of the total circulation of 10 thousand pieces, 8 thousand are intended for the domestic market, while the sale of 2 thousand is planned for 2019.

Although the banknote has zero value, it has become a collector’s phenomenon in the short time since the concept was introduced in Slovakia in 2018. In addition, it significantly contributes to the support of tourism and travel across the most important cultural, tourist and historical sites.

Therefore, the hammam in Trenčianske Teplice cannot stand aside.
